The Burger method

Pr.Andrew Devanbu of Koramangala Methodist Church (KMC), Bangalore facilitated a session on Criticism in Relationships. He took the young professionals through the Bible; providing them with tips to handle criticism. It was powerful and practical.

Ashley finally concluded by giving 3 points
1. Don’t take criticism personally
2. Use ‘I words‘ when you talk – ex: I feel neglected, I am sorry etc
3. Use the burger method – Compliment, Criticize, Compliment

Then Ashley facilitated a game called “contributing to the Big picture“. It was fast, fun with lots of great team work. Finally we understood why we all criticize naturally, but compliment rarely!

So my one challenge is this:
When you are about to criticize anybody – STOP – think of one relevant positive trait in that person and spell it out honestly and then if you need to – use the burger method.

Thanks.
